PRIVACY STATEMENT

The following is a statement about our privacy policy concerning the personal information we collect about you.

It is the policy of Spencer Boyd Associates Media Consultancy , trading as Digital Fire Marketing Solutions in this instance (hereafter referred to as DFMS and which is the marketing arm of Spencer Boyd Associates PTY SA) , to act in accordance  in so far as we are able in SA to adhere with current UK best practise legislation and to meet the current best practice on the Internet. Our aim is to be responsible, relevant and secure when using your data.

Basic registration information allows us to provide you with a better on line experience. Whenever you provide such personal information, we will treat that information in accordance with this policy. We endeavour at all times to keep your data accurate and secure, and to honour your data preferences with regard to receipt of email, mobile messaging and mobile telephone calls.

DFMS collection of your personal information through promo mailers:

In order to enter DFMS and our partners' competitions on line you must first complete the registration/questionnaire  form. During registration you are required to give contact information (such as name and email address). We use this information to contact you  for services in which you have expressed interest.

You have the option to provide demographic information (such as income level and gender) to us; we encourage you to submit this information so we can provide you a more personalized experience.

By registering and entering your details you consent to DFMS and its clients sending you information about products and/or services that have been selected based on your stated interests. You also agree to the terms and conditions of the privacy statement that govern how your information will be processed. Sponsors of the DFMS questionnaires have their own privacy policies and some have their own opt-in statements, DFMS strongly recommends that you read and understand this information.

Your data together with that of other subscribers to DFMS may be aggregated at Postcode or other levels for the building of statistical and analytical tables. At no time will your data be individually identifiable in such tables.

We do not link aggregate user data with personally identifiable information. Personally identifiable information: We Share Personally Identifiable Information with Third Parties, we share the information that you have answered within the questionnaires with the relevant client. The clients use this to profile you; this enables them to send you targeted communications. 

Once you register with DFMS you consent to DFMS and its clients being able to send you relevant communications. The collection of data by DFMS through registration on third party sites may lead to your data also being held by that third party site. The data that you provide to DFMS is held by both DFMS and the sponsors, of the questionnaires that you answer.

DFMS holds your data in a central database and this database is only accessed by reference to interest or demographic categories in order to provide you with information about those interests you have selected. The process of supplying you with this information is at all times under the control of DFMS although specialist third party suppliers may carry out the dispatch. .

DFMS de-registration and un-subscribing from  our or partner emails:

There is information on or a link to information on how you can un-subscribe at the bottom of all emails that DFMS send out either on behalf of DFMS or its clients and sponsors.

You may at any time de-register from promotional e mails sent by DFMS and its partners by selecting the de-register button located within the promo mailer, or e mailing carmen@digitalfire.co.za with the words UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject line.

The consequences of de-registration are that your account details will be placed in a suppression file and you will not receive any further email communications from DFMS or that Client.

The Internet is not a 100% secure medium for communication and, accordingly, DFMS cannot guarantee the security of any information you send to DFMS via the Internet. DFMS is not responsible for any loss or damage you or others may suffer as a result of the loss of confidentiality of such information. DFMS is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access, which are located in controlled facilities.
